Yangombi Umpakati are the Bantu unique Light Infantry of the Classical Age, avaliable to upgrade from Umpakati as soon as the age is reached. Like all infantry, Yangombi Umpakati are trained and upgraded at the Barracks, replacing the standard Javelineers.
Compared with the standard Javelineers, Yangombi Umpakati have +1 attack strength, and are recruited 1.7 seconds faster; 8.3 sec. (125 frames) instead of the 10.0 sec. (150 frames) base building time of Javelineers. This means they are more capable and useful if trying to swarm an enemy with Light Infantry, since their larger damage value and their ability to replenish losses faster translates to greater capacity to sustain pressure. Yangombi Umpakati also benefit greatly from national powers, as the Bantu have a +100% Population Limit, and all of their infantry move 25% faster. These combined advantages make Umpakati one of the best raiding units, and quite useful in a rush if properly supported.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Timber for the second unit created, and grows exponentially from then on. Upgrading this unit costs double the base cost of the unit it will upgrade to; this means that the upgrade to Impi has a cost of 80 Food, 80 Timber. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
