Rubber is one of the 31 rare resources. It only becomes visible once a nation has entered the Industrial Age; until then it appears as a rocky patch, as with Oil. It appears as a small group of rubber trees with some tire stacks and latex barrels around it.

Like with all rare resources on land, Rubber can be gathered by sending a Merchant from the Market to the resource location. Rubber provides the following benefits:

• +20 Timber gather rate.
• +20 Oil gather rate.
• Base cost of Auto Plant units reduced by 15%.
  • This cost reduction does affect base upgrade costs, but does not affect ramping costs or ramping upgrade costs.
