Mohawk Spearmen are the Iroquois unique Heavy Infantry of the Classical Age, avaliable to upgrade from Spearmen as soon as the age is reached. Like all infantry, Mohawk Spearmen are trained and upgraded at the Barracks, replacing the standard Phalanx.
By upgrading from Spearmen, Mohawk Spearmen gain +25 hit points, +2 attack strength, and +1 Line of Sight, having exactly the same basic stats as the Phalanx they replace. However, the Iroquois Power of Nation make Mohawk Spearmen superior to standard Phalanx, as they benefit from +5% hit points, the ability to heal in friendly territory when not moving or attacking, and stay hidden in friendly territory if not attacking; as well as an undocumented benefit of most Iroquois units, which is a +25% movement speed bonus in any territory.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Metal for the second unit created, increasing further with every new unit until the cost cap is reached, which for military units is +125% of their original base value. Upgrading this unit costs double the base cost of the unit it will upgrade to; this means that the upgrade to Heavy Mohawk Spearmen has a cost of 100 Food, 60 Metal. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
Version Notes Edit
Prior to version version 03.02.12.0800, the Iroquois' entire unique Heavy Infantry line had +3/+4/+5/+6 moves compared to standard Heavy Infantry, instead of the current +1/+1/+1/+1 moves. Also, the national bonus for Barracks units was of +10% instead of +5% hit points.
