|Unit Information||Game Strategies||History|
Light Cavalry is the standard Light Cavalry of the Medieval Age, available to upgrade from the Light Horse as soon as the age is reached. Like all cavalry of the age, it is trained and upgraded at the Stable.
When the Light Horse becomes Light Cavalry, it gains +18 hit points, +1 attack strength, and +1 Line of Sight. The fastest unit of its age, Light Cavalry excels when attacking Light Infantry, Ranged Cavalry, and specially, Artillery Weapons and Supply Wagons. However, Heavy Cavalry and Infantry, as well as building fire will bring them down as fast as they move, and are vulnerable to Foot Archer fire. All in all, the Light Cavalry, and Light Cavalry in general, is arguably better than Light Infantry in most roles, except for two: Light Infantry is much more effective against a large force of Foot Archers, and can garrison inside Towers if necessary, while cavalry in general cannot.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Stable unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Timber for the second unit created, increasing further with every new unit until the cost cap is reached, which for military units is of +125% their original base value. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
