Unit Information | Game Strategies | History |
Javelineers are the standard Light Infantry of the Classical Age, available to upgrade from Slingers as soon as the age is reached. Like all infantry, Javelineers are trained and upgraded at the Barracks.
Overview
After Slingers become Javelineers, they gain +10 hit points, +1 moves, and +1 attack strength. Since Cavalry appears in this age, they will be outpaced by Light Cavalry when it comes to deal with Foot Archers, but will be much more durable facing them. Also, Ranged Cavalry will be more efficient taking down Civilians, but if the enemy focuses on Foot Archers, Javelineers will still be the best option as Ranged Cavalry won't last much against them.
Unit Costs
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Timber for the second unit created, increasing further with every new unit until the cost cap is reached, which for military units is +125% of their original base value. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.

Trivia
