Inti Clubmen are the Inca unique Light Infantry of the Classical Age, avaliable to upgrade from Slingers as soon as the age is reached. Like all infantry, Inti Clubmen are trained and upgraded at the Barracks, replacing the standard Javelineers.
Unlike all other Light Infantry, Inti Clubmen lack a ranged attack. However, they are tougher; having +9 hit points, +1 armor and +3 strength compared to Javelineers. They also don't have the 5% damage penalty against Heavy and Light Cavalry that most Light, Gunpowder, and Modern Infantry have, and additionally receive a 15% damage bonus against all Cavalry. This doesn't suffice to make Inti Clubmen an anti-cavalry unit, as they are still as vulnerable to it as other Light Infantry, but makes them slightly more able to defend themselves against it before being wiped out, or be more helpful destroying an opposing cavalry force more quickly if supporting Heavy Infantry. Being melee instead of ranged puts Inti Clubmen at a disadvantage in that when confronting ranged units, as they'll receive more shots before being able to retaliate, but their increased armor and hit points might compensate for it. On the other hand, they receive the 80% damage bonus against Supply Wagons and Armed Supply Wagons that all melee units receive, making them better at defeating these units than regular Light Infantry, although still surpassed in this regard by Light Cavalry and its superior speed.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Timber for the second unit created, and grows exponentially from then on. Upgrading this unit costs double the base cost of the unit it will upgrade to; this means that the upgrade to Inti Macemen has a cost of 80 Food, 80 Timber. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
