The Horse Archer is the first Ranged Cavalry unit. It becomes available in the Classical Age. Like all Ranged Cavalry, Horse Archers are fast raiders able to fire even while moving. They are effective when fighting Heavy Infantry, Artillery Weapons, Civilians and Support Units. Horse Archers are countered with Light Cavalry and Foot Archers.
The Horse Archer is trained and upgraded at the Stable.
Production cost for this unit increases progressively with every Stable unit on the field or currently in production. However, the maximum cost for Horse Archer is capped at 135 Timber / 90 Wealth. Actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.

- The Nubians train the Camel Archer instead.
