Unit Information Game Strategies History

Highlanders are the British unique Gunpowder Infantry of the Enlightenment Age, replacing the regular Musketeers.

Highlanders upgrade from Gunpowder Age Arquebusiers.

Compared with Musketeers, they are almost exactly the same and identical in every way with a few exceptions. They are slightly more accurate, especially at range with less attenuation compared to the Musketeer. They have +40% attack bonus against other gunpowder infantry and +80% against heavy infantry.

Highlanders are trained and upgraded at the Barracks.

Production cost for this unit increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. However, the maximum cost for Highlanders is capped at 157 Food Food / 135 Timber Timber. Actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.

The Highlanders are based on the 42nd Regiment of Foot, with their appearance being modeled after their Napoleonic era uniform.
