Unlike Fighters and Bombers, the Helicopter is a detector unit so it reveals invisible units within its line of sight, allowing nearby units or itself to attack the unit. Also, Helicopters do not use fuel so they do not need to garrison inside an Airbase in general (except to repair) after construction. They are controlled like all other units and can hover in the air indefinitely without any such need to refuel.
The Helicopter is built and upgraded at the Airbase.
Production cost increases for every unit of the same type, whether on the field or currently in production, by a fixed +0 Wealth / +1 Oil. However, the maximum cost for Helicopter is capped at 202 Wealth / 202 Oil (reached with 112 units). Actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
The Helicopter's model is based on the Bell H-13 Sioux, the military version of the Bell 47. The two-bladed light helicopter with the distinctive bubble canopy and open tail boom structure was introduced in 1946 and used during the Korean War (1950-1953) for reconnaissance and medevac missions.
