|Unit Information||Game Strategies||History|
The Chevalier is the French unique Heavy Cavalry of the Classical Age. Like all cavalry, it is trained and upgraded at the Stable, and requires the research of Military 2 (Mercenaries) to become avaliable. It replaces the standard Cataphract.
Compared to Cataphracts, Chevaliers have +1 attack strength, +1 hit points, and +1 moves, which translates to a movement speed roughly 0.1 tiles per second faster. In addition, they have a faster attack (of 33 frames instead of the standard 35 frames of Cataphracts), further increasing the total damage they can inflict over time.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Stable unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Wealth and 1 Metal for the second unit created, and grows exponentially from then on. Upgrading this unit costs double the base cost of the unit it will upgrade to; this means that the upgrade to Heavy Chevalier has a cost of 100 Wealth, 120 Metal. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
Version Notes Edit
- Prior to version 03.02.12.0800, the French unique Heavy Cavalry had +5 hit points.
- Chevalier means "knight" in French.
