Atl-Atls are the Aztec unique Light Infantry of the Ancient Age. Like all infantry, Atl-Atls are trained and upgraded at the Barracks, replacing the standard Slingers. Besides the researching of Military 1 (The Art of War) in order to build a Barracks, there is no requirement for recruiting Atl-Atls.
Compared to Slingers, Atl-Atls are tougher and faster, having +10 hit points, and +3 moves, which means they advance approximately 0.2 tiles per second faster. This makes Atl-Atls more capable raiders, having the extra speed and resilience to disengage from combat successfully if the battle is at their disadvantage, or sustain hit-and-run tactics for longer before requiring recovery. This also means they are more effective against Foot Archers, needing less time to close in to attack them and resisting more hits in the process.
Unit Costs Edit
Unit production cost increases progressively with every Barracks unit on the field or currently in production. The default increase is of 1 Food and 1 Timber for the second unit created, increasing further with every new unit until the cost cap is reached, which for military units is +125% of their original base value. It's important to note, however, that these prices are the default standard, and actual production and upgrading costs may differ, depending on researched technologies/ages, connected rare resources, or adopted governments.
