- "Suppose now that technology were no mere means, how would it stand with the will to master it?"
- — Martin Heidegger, 20th century German philosopher
Artificial Intelligence is one of four Future Technologies and becomes available at the Library, once all regular technologies have been researched. It requires a vast amount of Knowledge and Timber to research and researching it increases the research cost for all subsequent Future Technology research.
Upon researching Artificial Intelligence, that nation can instantly produce units as long as the population limit has not been reached.
Note, that Artificial Intelligence is not considered a Science Research - a connected Papyrus rare resource does not reduce it's research cost.
This along global prosperity are considered the best future techs for a game that will predictably drag on in a long, protracted war, as they provide almost limitless resources to developed nations (even if hit by 1 or 2 icbm missiles) and the ability to create and reinforce entire armies within seconds.
Like all Future Technologies, it cannot be researched in Conquer the World mode.
Note
Note that like Global Prosperity, this technology has a different cost structure, requiring timber where normally wealth is required to pay for researching it. Often times, if this technology is researched and the amount of basic resources have been set to infinite, CPU players will often send endless swarms of enemy troops and units thus causing some matches to be nearly impossible to win.
